The trauma victim starts dying at the time of injury. Preventing unnecessary deaths means preventing oxygen starvation.

1. Airways - prevent airway block
2. Breathing - support the breathing
3. Circulation - stop the bleeding

This is the ABC of life saving. This is how we expect a Western traffic victim to be treated.

It can all be done by a layman villager - provided somebody has trained and equipped him well.

• That would cost 400 hours of training.
• It would cost USD200 of equipment.

Is that too much of a price for a peasant's life?
